7 Day Songwriter's Challenge - Day 2

My posts are a day behind my actual song writing. In order to give myself time to record, upload and get a post written, I'm writing the song one day, and posting it the next. Day 1 and Day 2 songs came from different processes, so let me take a moment to reflect on those differences.

Day 1 - I had decided to do this challenge - and blog it and invite others to take the challenge as well--, so I had the intent to write a song. But I didn't have a song idea. For this song, the entire song is a 4 chord progression, same chords through the whole song--verses, chorus, both the same chords, same progression. The chords came first. I started playing this chord progression and liked it, so I recorded the music. I had no idea really what the words would be, or even the topic or thought of the song, so I just arbitrarily recorded a number of measures of playing through those chords. Then I started playing the recording and singing words/humming, developing a melody. As the melody began to take shape, so did the words. When I had penned the first verse/chorus, I realized that it took about half of the music I had recorded, so I wrote another verse and added the chorus.

It wasn't a great masterpiece, but it was a song. Day 1 completed.

Day 2 - I had to work my 'day job', so I hadn't had time to really work on a song, but about the middle of the afternoon, I had a bit of a lull in my work. I pulled out my pen and started writing the time and day.. 'It's 3:30 on a Monday afternoon'.. and just followed that thought, expressing what I was feeling at the time - impatience with the day not seeming to speed by quickly enough, and the rest of the words seemed to flow fairly easily from that. But, I still didn't have a melody, or chords, etc.. I went back to work, finished my work day, then picked up my guitar, stared at the words I'd written, and tried to let my chords and melody flow around the feel of the lyrics. This is what I came up with:
